A teacher at Tyrrell Elementary School, Cindy Lopez, was recently named one of Port Arthur ISD’s 2026–2027 Teachers of the Year. Lopez teaches third-grade math and science and was recognized for her commitment to helping students succeed in the classroom. The district marked the achievement as part of celebrations for outstanding educators across its campuses this school year.
