In 2026, Staff Sgt. Jose Riojas Elementary School won the Overall Sweepstakes title at the Elementary District Meet for UIL A+ Academics, coming in first out of 14 elementary campuses that competed. The school also held an official “A” accountability rating for student achievement and academic performance. Academic competitions, classroom activities, and school programmes are held during the school year to encourage students’ participation and learning. The Riojas Elementary PTO also helped to improve the campus by donating new playground equipment and classroom learning resources for students and the staff.
