Lamar Elementary in New Braunfels is in the news after winning the district-wide "Battle of the Books" competition with 82 points in a close academic battle. The event brought together the best student teams from all over NBISD. To get ready, the teams read a lot and took quick quizzes. This success shows how much the school cares about literacy and getting students involved. It also shows how reading and collaborative learning programs are getting everyone excited on campus.
