Students at Santa Rita Elementary took part in the annual H-E-B School Plastic Bag Recycling Challenge last week, where children brought in used plastic bags to be collected and recycled. The effort is part of a statewide push to encourage recycling and reduce single-use plastics in schools. Staff and volunteers helped students sort bags and learn about recycling as part of the project. Students enjoyed the event and were excited to see the total number of bags collected.
