D D Hachar Elementary School's Cougars Chess Team placed 2nd overall at a recent district-level tournament in the 2024-25 school year — one of the more tangible competitive wins for a Title I campus of 442 students. The school ran its Earth Day "Go Green" celebration in April 2025, with students and staff wearing Earth-themed hats and participating in eco-themed activities.
