Being Updated
Young Elementary is celebrating its role in the district's historic academic turnaround, which made sure that all students could go to a safe and caring school with an A or B rating. The school just had its annual "Reading with the Pros" event, where professional athletes told their own stories and told kids to read. The campus is also still working hard to get parents involved through its new digital communication and feedback portals.
Q1. How has the "Historic Academic Turnaround" at Young El made sure that every student can get an A or B grade?
Ans. Our campus improved a lot by focusing on giving every child a safe, caring place to learn and high-quality instruction.
Q2. Does Young El give parents any specific digital tools to share their thoughts on how to make the school better?
Ans. We use "Voice of the Parent" digital portals to make sure that our families can have a say in how our school is run every day.
Q3. What kinds of "Reading with the Pros" events has Young El recently held to get kids interested in reading?
Ans. Professional athletes come to our classrooms to tell their own stories and get our students to read so they can reach their full potential.
Q4. How does Young El make sure that all families in the area still think that its "Safe and Caring" environment is the most important thing?
Ans. Our "Family-First" approach means that every staff member is committed to making strong, supportive connections with our students and their parents.
Q5. Are there any special programs at Young El for students who are very good at the digital or performing arts?
Ans. Our "Creative Jaguars" club gives students a chance to try out digital media and acting on stage, which is a great way for them to show off their unique skills.
