Being Updated
Houston ISD is currently under debate over a brand new Texas law stating schools must display the Ten Commandments. There is no guidance yet on how the school districts will comply with these changes. Houston ISD is also planning to allocate the $180 million to explore a career and technical education center and/or upgrading other facilities and HVAC units, while also launching a new venture called "Future 2 Schools."
Another matter for Houston ISD is holding down the plans to close up to 10 smaller campuses since they are failing. Meanwhile, innovation is still progressing for small schools in the district and ranked as one of the highest performers on STAAR exams.
