Being Updated
The new SPARK Park at Tipps Elementary just opened for business. It's a lovely and safe place for students to meet and learn. There were a number of local state representatives at the park's ribbon-cutting ceremony, where the campus choir put on a special show. The school will also bring back its Junior Police Academy in 2026. This will teach students how to work together and help their community.
Q1. How does the Junior Police Academy at Tipps El teach kids about being responsible in their community?
Ans. Students work with police officers in their area to learn about crime scene investigation and build trust and a sense of duty to their community.
Q2. Does Tipps El have any special choir or band programs for kids in the upper elementary grades?
Ans. We are part of a great music community, and we have a lively choir program that sings at a lot of local events.
Q3. What special things does the new Tipps El SPARK Park have for students to use for fun?
Ans. The park has fun play structures and outdoor learning areas that are meant to get kids moving and help them learn about the environment.
Q4. How can Tipps El parents go to the annual "Salute to the Stars" gala for teachers?
Ans. Families can nominate their favorite teachers to be honored for the great things they do for the students.
Q5. Are there any specific STEAM challenges built into the fifth-grade science curriculum at Tipps El?
Ans. Fifth graders take part in "Design Sprints," where they use engineering kits to come up with ways to solve real-world environmental problems.
