Being Updated
Terrace Elementary School is still working to create a culture of excellence. It recently honored the finalists for the 2026 SBISD Teacher of the Year on its campus. The school is having "Math and Literacy Nights" to give parents real tools to help their kids learn at home. The campus is still a place where people in the area can hold events, which helps to build relationships between families and school staff.
Q1. How does having fewer students at Terrace El help each student learn and get more attention from their teacher?
Ans. Because we are such a close-knit group, we can give each child more personalized instruction and make sure that their needs are met every day.
Q2. Does Terrace El have a special focus on environmental science or recycling programs that are open to everyone on campus?
Ans. Students take part in hands-on green projects that show them how important it is to be environmentally friendly and take care of their own area.
Q3. What kinds of health and fitness challenges does Terrace El put on for its students every year?
Ans. We hold seasonal "Field Days" and healthy living challenges to make staying active fun and social.
Q4. How can parents at Terrace El help the school make decisions through the PTA or other groups?
Ans. We have meetings once a month where parents are encouraged to share their thoughts and help plan the school's future events and projects.
Q5. Does Terrace El offer any special help to fifth graders as they get ready to move up to middle school?
Ans. Our "Moving Up" program includes tours of middle schools and workshops on how to manage your time so that the transition goes as smoothly as possible.
