Being Updated
Stevens Elementary School's new way of teaching is working well. It includes special "Dyad" classes in martial arts, fine arts, and other subjects. Families recently visited the school for a "Showcase of Learning," where they saw students use their new skills in creative and theatrical performances. The new series of monthly interactive workshops is also getting more parents to come to school.
Q1. How do the "Dyad" classes at Stevens El help students find talents that aren't in the usual subjects?
Ans. Students take turns going to specialized classes like martial arts and photography to learn new skills and improve their discipline and focus.
Q2. Does Stevens El hold an event every year where students can show off their musical or acting skills to their parents?
Ans. Our "Fine Arts Gala" gives each student a chance to show off their creative growth on stage.
Q3. What steps does Stevens El take to make sure that students are safe during outdoor PE and recess?
Ans. Staff members watch over all outdoor activities and follow strict heat-index rules to make sure students stay safe and hydrated.
Q4. Are there any parent-led groups at Stevens El that work on making the campus look better or taking care of the school garden?
Ans. The "Stevens Green Team" invites parents to help keep our campus garden in good shape and teach students about the ecology of the area.
Q5. How does Stevens El fix students' technology so that learning doesn't stop during the day?
Ans. Our tech support team is on-site and can help students right away with hardware problems or software updates on their laptops.
