Being Updated
Stehlik Elementary School recently had a "Out-of-this-World Open House" with a "Space Passport Challenge" to get kids interested in reading and writing as well as their social and emotional growth. The school's "Súper Spellers" also did well at the 2025 District Spanish Spelling Bee, which shows how much the school cares about teaching kids to speak two languages. The school is also preparing families for the future by holding "Rising 6th Grade Parent Nights" to help students make the transition to middle school.
Q1. How does Stehlik El use the "Space Passport Challenge" to get kids to read more books?
Ans. Students get virtual stamps for every book they read, which helps them unlock "intergalactic" rewards and get recognized on campus.
Q2. Does Stehlik El offer any special bilingual help for students who are taking part in the district spelling bee?
Ans. Our "Súper Spellers" club gives students focused coaching in both Spanish and English to get them ready for academic competitions.
Q3. What kind of help does Stehlik El give to fifth graders who will be going to middle school next year?
Ans. We hold "Rising 6th Grade" nights for parents and tours of the campus for students to make sure they feel good about moving up.
Q4. Are there any student-run environmental clubs at the Stehlik El campus this year?
Ans. The "Green Team" helps students learn about the importance of local conservation efforts and run recycling programs on campus.
Q5. What does Stehlik El do to make sure that families feel welcome at the annual Open House events on campus?
Ans. We have bilingual tours and interactive "Passport" activities that make it fun and easy for everyone to get around the school.
