Being Updated
Spence Elementary School is honoring Mr. Caleb Concepcion, who was recently named the 2025 Teacher of the Year for his dedication and "true gift" for teaching. The campus is also getting big improvements to its buildings as part of the district's $1.8 billion bond package. The school also had a successful "Welcome Back Stallions" event to get families involved again and get students ready for a productive year.
Q1. What kinds of physical fitness challenges does Spence El offer to help people live healthy lives?
Ans. To get students to stay active and set personal goals, our PE department holds seasonal fitness tests and fun runs.
Q2. Does Spence El have a program that lets students borrow digital devices to use at home?
Ans. Eligible students can borrow technology from the district to make sure they have the tools they need to do well in school at home.
Q3. How does Spence El honor students for their accomplishments in the arts, like music or painting?
Ans. Families can come to our "Stallion Showcases" every three months to see student artwork and hear live music in the auditorium.
Q4. Does Spence El have any special reading programs for students who are not doing well in school?
Ans. Our Literacy First program gives every child a lot of one-on-one help in small groups so they can reach their full reading potential as soon as possible.
Q5. Are there any workshops for parents at Spence El that teach them how to use the district's online grading portal?
Ans. We have "Tech Tea" mornings where our staff helps parents learn how to use the digital tools that track their child's progress.
