The Southwest Schools Mangum Elementary Campus started the school year with a fun convocation with a Mardi Gras theme to honor students' academic and cultural achievements. The school also took part in the first-ever Region 4 ESC Spanish Spelling Bee. This was a big step forward for bilingual education. The Marvy Finger Family Foundation also recently chose the district for a well-known scholarship program that will help students do well in the future.
Q1. Does Southwest Schools Mangum El Campus offer any specialized mentoring for students who want to work in technology in the future?
Ans. Our STEM Discovery program helps young kids learn about basic coding and robotics to get them interested in technology early on.
Q2. How does Southwest Schools Mangum El Campus make sure that students with certain food allergies get the right nutrition?
Ans. The cafeteria staff works closely with our campus nurse to make sure that all students have safe, healthy meal options.
Q3. Are there any quiet study or reflection areas at Southwest Schools Mangum El Campus just for students?
Ans. There are quiet areas in our library where students can read or do research on their own during the day.
Q4. Does Southwest Schools Mangum El Campus give priority to siblings when enrolling new students each year?
Ans. Yes, families with students already enrolled get first choice during the open enrollment period to keep siblings at the same campus.
Q5. How can parents be guest speakers at the Southwest Schools Mangum El Campus annual career day?
Ans. During our spring "Future Leaders" campus event, we invite parents from all kinds of jobs to talk about their journeys.
