Being Updated
People still talk about how great the school culture is at South Belt Elementary and the recent "Family Engagement Awards," which honor parents who help out in the school's learning labs. The school's projections for the 2026 state assessment look good, especially for how much upper elementary students will improve in math and science.
Q1. Does South Belt El have a science lab where students do hands-on experiments every week?
Ans. Every grade level does weekly experiments related to their science curriculum in our campus's special "Discovery Lab."
Q2. How does South Belt El include social-emotional learning in the daily schedule for all of its students?
Ans. Every morning, students do "Circle Time," where they practice mindfulness, empathy, and conflict resolution exercises together.
Q3. Can South Belt El students learn to play an instrument during school hours?
Ans. Fourth graders can join the recorder group, and fifth graders can join the campus band if they want to.
Q4. Does South Belt El have any "Career Days" when people from the area come to talk to students about their jobs?
Ans. Yes, we have a "Future Fair" every year with guests from healthcare, engineering, and the arts in the area.
Q5. How can parents sign up to be chaperones for South Belt El field trips that take place outside of school?
Ans. At least two weeks before the trip, parents must fill out a district background check and sign up through our volunteer portal.
Note: Schedules may change during school holidays. Please contact School for exact Schedule.
