Being Updated
Over 550 teachers from Alief ISD received Teacher Incentive Allotment designations at Smith Elementary on Stancliff Road. This has brought in a lot of money that will help students do well and keep teachers. In April 2026, the campus held a fun event to get kids ready for Pre-K. Families could meet the leaders right away and join the "Smith Dinos" community. The Taste of Alief festival is a parade that celebrates the many different cultures in the Alief area. Students and their families are also getting ready for it.
Q1. What kinds of hands-on STEM tools do the classrooms at Smith El on Stancliff Road have?
Ans. Our students use different engineering kits and interactive tablets to learn how to solve problems by working together on creative building projects.
Q2. Does Smith El (Alief) hold a science fair every year where students can show off their own experiments?
Ans. Yes, our "Innovation Expo" lets every child show off their scientific discoveries to teachers and families in the area.
Q3. How does the low student-to-teacher ratio at Smith El (Alief) affect the schedule for daily reading intervention?
Ans. This ratio makes it possible for small groups to read together in a way that gives each child direct, personalized feedback on how they are doing.
Q4. Are there any student-run clubs at Smith El (Alief) that are all about the arts or performance?
Ans. Students can join our "Creative Expressions" club, which looks at different forms of art like painting, digital art, and basic sculpture.
Q5. How do parents sign up to be on the Smith El (Alief) Shared Decision-Making Committee this year?
Ans. Parents who are interested can fill out a short interest form and send it to the front office to help us set academic priorities for the whole campus.
Note: Schedules may change during school holidays. Please contact School for exact Schedule.
