Being Updated
Families still pick Sinclair Elementary as their first choice because of its Communications Magnet program. Recently, students started making a digital newsletter and broadcast segment for the program. The school's focus on media literacy in 2026 is helping students get better at thinking critically and giving presentations, which are very important in the HISD district.
Q1. Does Sinclair El have any media programs run by students, like a morning news show or a digital podcast?
Ans. Our Communications Magnet has a news team made up of students that makes daily morning broadcasts for the whole school community.
Q2. How does Sinclair El include the Houston arts scene in its music and fine arts classes?
Ans. We often ask local artists to lead workshops, and we also set up gallery walks to show off student work to the neighborhood.
Q3. Are there certain things at Sinclair El that students can use to get better at speaking in front of people and giving presentations?
Ans. As part of our magnet program, students take part in "Speech Showcases" that help them feel more confident when speaking in front of others.
Q4. Is there an active program at Sinclair El for keeping track of and celebrating the community service hours that students do?
Ans. Yes, students can earn "Service Stars" for taking part in charity drives and environmental clean-up projects in their area all year long.
Q5. What are the exact rules for visitors who want to enter the Sinclair El campus during school hours?
Ans. Before they can go into any hallways, all visitors must show a valid government ID at the electronic check-in kiosk.
