Being Updated
The 2025–2026 school year is off to a great start at Sheldon Elementary. They are concentrating on student leadership positions that let students lead projects to clean up the campus and recycle. Families have praised the school for being safe and caring, and for promising to use technology in every lesson.
Q1. How does Sheldon El incorporate agricultural or rural life concepts into its standard elementary science curriculum?
Ans. We often work with local 4-H groups to bring animals and farming demonstrations to campus so that students can learn in a hands-on way.
Q2. Does Sheldon El have a special "Maker Space" where students can use different craft supplies to build and come up with new ideas?
Ans. In our library, there is a "Creation Station" where students can work on weekly engineering design challenges using recycled materials and simple tools.
Q3. What kind of help does Sheldon El give to students who are doing much better than their grade level?
Ans. Our Gifted and Talented program has "Pull-Out" sessions where students do advanced research projects and work on hard logic puzzles.
Q4. Are there any special chances for students at Sheldon El to sing in a choir or act in a play?
Ans. Students in grades 3 through 5 can try out for our annual spring musical, which has parts for actors, singers, and even stage crew.
Q5. How does Sheldon El let families who don't use social media know about school-wide emergencies or closures due to bad weather?
Ans. The district has an automated phone and text alert system that makes sure every family gets important information right away.
