Being Updated
Shadow Oaks Elementary chose Christina Leal as the 2025 Teacher of the Year. The school is also doing well in the district's "T-2-4" program, which helps students get ready for college and technical jobs. The campus gave away hundreds of books during its "Family Literacy Night" to get people to read outside of school.
Q1. Does Shadow Oaks El offer any special mentoring programs for students who want to work in technology or the military in the future?
Ans. We hold career days as part of our T-2-4 initiative, where local professionals and veterans talk to our students about their jobs.
Q2. How does Shadow Oaks El make sure that younger elementary school students use technology in the classroom safely and responsibly?
Ans. Every student learns about digital citizenship and uses filtered devices to make sure their online learning is safe and only educational.
Q3. Is there a "Watch D.O.G.S." or similar program at Shadow Oaks El that parents can join?
Ans. Dads and grandpas volunteer for our active Watch D.O.G.S. program to help keep the campus safe.
Q4. What is the Shadow Oaks El policy for giving students treats or snacks on their birthdays?
Ans. Parents can bring store-bought, individually wrapped treats to the front office to be shared during the last class of the day.
Q5. Does Shadow Oaks El have a science fair every year where students can show judges their own research projects?
Ans. Yes, our "Young Scientists Expo" lets students show off their experiments and compete for different awards for academic achievement across the campus.
