Being Updated
The new "Literacy Initiative" at Seguin Elementary is helping students learn and grow by using data to make sure that K-2 students are at the right level. The campus has also improved the physical learning environment by adding new outdoor equipment that community partners gave to encourage healthy activity and social-emotional growth.
Q1. Is there a "Pre-K for All" program for three- and four-year-olds in Seguin El's neighborhood?
Ans. To get kids ready for future success, we offer a full-day Pre-K program that focuses on early literacy and social skills.
Q2. How does Seguin El fit physical education and outdoor play into the busy school day in 2026?
Ans. Students like having structured recess and PE classes every day where they can use the new outdoor equipment we got to help them develop healthy habits.
Q3. Does Seguin El have any special programs for students who are really good at creative writing?
Ans. Every week, our "Young Authors" club gets together to write original poems and stories that are published in our campus newsletter.
Q4. Does Seguin El give uniforms or help with clothes to families who might be having trouble paying for school?
Ans. Our "Closet of Care" gives clean uniforms and shoes to any student who needs them, so everyone is ready for school.
Q5. What can families do to find out about school closures or emergencies at Seguin El if they don't have the internet?
Ans. We send home physical paper flyers and use a "Phone Tree" system to make sure that every family gets important school information.
