Reed El students and their families recently went to the 12th Superintendent's Fun Run, which raised a record $95,000 for the district's scholarship fund. The school is honoring its "Reed Star" artists, who were praised for their incredible creativity at the district art show in April 2026. The leaders of the school have sent out updates that show they are still focused on keeping students safe and making sure they learn.
Q1. Is there a Gifted and Talented program for advanced students at Reed Elementary?
Ans. Yes, the HORIZONS program gives identified students different kinds of instruction to help them reach their full academic and creative potential.
Q2. What kind of technology do the classrooms at Reed Elementary use?
Ans. Every classroom has interactive digital boards and devices for each student to use to make learning more modern and tech-savvy.
Q3. Is there an active school garden at Reed Elementary that teaches kids about the environment?
Ans. Students learn about ecosystems and how to live sustainably by doing hands-on botany lessons in the campus garden.
Q4. Are there any chances for fifth graders at Reed Elementary to be leaders?
Ans. Students who are responsible can apply for positions on the student council or safety patrol to help lead campus-wide projects.
Q5. How often do Reed Elementary parents and teachers meet?
Ans. There are two formal meetings a year, but parents can ask for more meetings through the school's online communication portal.
