Being Updated
Red El is still one of the best STEM schools. In April of this year, its student engineering teams won a lot of competitions across the city. The school is celebrating being one of Houston's best magnet schools, where students quickly learn how to use computers and get better at math. Families are now taking "STEM Tours" of the campus to learn more about the school's unique 2026 curriculum and creative labs.
Q1. Does Red Elementary have any special after-school clubs for kids who are interested in STEM?
Ans. Students can join different engineering and coding clubs where they can work with modern technology and robotics.
Q2. How do car riders at Red Elementary drop off their kids in the morning?
Ans. Parents should use the designated side loop, where staff members help students get safely out of cars starting at 7.00 AM.
Q3. Are there any music programs for strings or instruments at Red Elementary?
Ans. During the week, students can learn to play different musical instruments in the school's strong fine arts department.
Q4. Does Red Elementary have a night where parents can meet their child's teacher before school starts?
Ans. Every August, families are invited to campus to see the classrooms, meet the teachers, and drop off important school supplies.
Q5. What can parents do to help the Red Elementary Parent Teacher Organization?
Ans. During orientation, parents can sign up to help plan campus festivals, raise money, and other classroom support projects.
