The district's 2026 academic reforms are working because Petersen El is getting its best mid-year reading scores in a long time. The school just started a new program called "Peer Reading Buddies." It pairs fifth graders with younger kids to help them read every day. Families are welcome to come to the "Petersen Excellence" awards ceremony, which will honor students who have made great progress in their character and growth.
