Oleson El recently held a "Engineering Challenge Day" where students built bridge prototypes out of things they found around the school. The school is happy to be a district "Safety First" model campus because its secure-check procedures are so good. Parents are very happy with the new communication app that teachers are using in 2026.
Q1. Is there a separate science lab at Oleson Elementary where students can do experiments?
Ans. Yes, students go to a special lab once a week to do hands-on scientific research and work on STEM projects together.
Q2. What are the rules for students at Oleson Elementary when they check out books from the library?
Ans. Kids can borrow two books a week, but they have to bring them back when they go to the library for other kids.
Q3. Does Oleson Elementary have a program for Spanish-speaking families that is bilingual?
Ans. The school has a full dual-language track that helps students become fluent in both English and Spanish for schoolwork.
Q4. Does Oleson Elementary have any student leadership positions, like safety patrol?
Ans. Fifth graders who are responsible can apply for safety patrol jobs to help with morning and afternoon duties.
Q5. What does Oleson Elementary do when it rains and kids need to go home by car?
Ans. When the weather is bad, students stay in the cafeteria until their car number is called for safe pickup.
