Recently, Hoyland Elementary School changed its rules to make sure the campus is free of distractions. This shows how much they care about their students' safety and focus. Families still choose this school because it is a caring place and puts a lot of stress on doing well in school. Ongoing community support and volunteering are still very important to the school's lively campus culture.
Q1. What is the main goal of the early childhood program at Hoyland El?
Ans. Hoyland El focuses on basic reading and writing skills and social skills, using play-based learning to get kids ready for higher elementary grades.
Q2. Does Hoyland El have any special programs for students who want to study the fine arts?
Ans. Hoyland El offers weekly rotations in music and visual arts so that students can try out different ways to be creative and improve their performance skills.
Q3. How does Hoyland El get parents involved in making decisions at the school?
Ans. Hoyland El has a Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) that meets regularly and a Site-Based Decision Making committee that looks over plans for improving the school.
Q4. What kinds of technology do students at Hoyland El have access to?
Ans. Hoyland El has a mobile iPad lab and desktop computers in the classroom to help students learn interactively in all of their core subjects.
Q5. Does Hoyland El offer any extra help or tutoring after school?
Ans. Hoyland El has clubs like "Girls on the Run" and gardening, as well as after-school tutoring for math and reading.
