Grissom Elementary School recently talked about turning into a NES campus. This means that students will have to go to school longer and take more advanced classes in science and technology. "Character Counts" honors students for being good people and good leaders every month. This keeps their school spirit high. Recently, community partnerships have grown to offer more after-school tutoring and creative arts classes for kids of all ages.
Q1. Is there a school garden at Grissom Elementary where students can learn outside?
Ans. Yes, the campus has a learning garden where students learn about life cycles and environmental science by doing things outside.
Q2. What is the official school mascot for students at Grissom Elementary?
Ans. The official mascot is the Astronaut, which honors the school's namesake and encourages students to reach for their highest goals.
Q3. Are there any special after-school robotics or STEM clubs at Grissom Elementary?
Ans. After school, the campus has a number of STEM-focused enrichment clubs where students work on coding and engineering projects every week.
Q4. Do students at Grissom Elementary have to wear a certain school uniform?
Ans. You must wear solid-colored polo shirts with khaki or navy blue pants or pleated skirts.
Q5. What does Grissom Elementary do to keep the campus safe and check in visitors?
Ans. Before entering, all visitors must show a valid government-issued ID that can be scanned by the Raptor security system.
