Being Updated
Gallegos Elementary has successfully changed to a New Education System campus. Students now have longer school days that include extra activities that are specific to their needs. The school recently celebrated its first semester of higher student engagement scores, which shows how hard its dedicated teachers have worked. Parents say they are happy with the way the school is going because their kids are getting better lessons in a more organized way.
Q1. Is the New Education System (NES) model used at Gallegos Elementary School?
Ans. The campus does use the NES model to give students more time to learn and help with tough lessons.
Q2. What is the school mascot for the kids at Gallegos Elementary?
Ans. The Bull is the official mascot and represents the strength and determination of all the students.
Q3. Do all the students at Gallegos Elementary have to have clear backpacks?
Ans. To keep the campus safe, the school makes all students use clear or mesh backpacks every day.
Q4. Does Gallegos Elementary have special rotations for the fine arts?
Ans. Students do "Art of Thinking" and fine arts rotations every day to help them think outside the box and critically.
Q5. How can parents check Gallegos Elementary grades online?
Ans. Families can see how well their child is doing in school and how often they are there through the Houston ISD Parent Connect portal, which requires a secure login.
