From 2024 to 2025, Cook Jr. will be in school. Houston ISD's New Education System will include elementary school. This means that students will have longer days at school and more help with their work. The campus has been friendlier and more helpful lately, which makes students want to be good people and do well in school. Families at the school are noticing real changes in how their kids learn and how they feel about being part of the campus community, according to recent survey results.
Q1. Is there a program at Cook Jr. Elementary that pairs students with reading buddies?
Ans. Every week, older students read with younger ones.
Q2. What is the official mascot that represents the spirit of Cook Jr. Elementary?
Ans. The Flame stands for the beginning of learning and knowledge.
Q3. Does Cook Jr. Elementary have programs that reward students for coming to class?
Ans. Every month, classes with the best attendance rates get prizes.
Q4. Do the kids at Cook Jr. Elementary wear uniforms or follow a dress code?
Ans. There is a standard dress code, but uniforms are not required.
Q5. What special event at Cook Jr. Elementary honors family members?
Ans. On Grandparents Day, family members can come to class and do activities with the kids.
