As the new school year begins, South Hi Mount Elementary is more committed than ever to helping students learn and working with the community. The school hours and layout of the campus have been changed to better meet the needs of families in the area. Teachers are still committed to creating an environment where all students are respected and strive for excellence.
Q1. Are there any STEM-focused labs at South Hi Mount El?
Ans. During the week, students use a special STEM lab to work on coding, robotics, and engineering problems that require them to use their hands.
Q2. How do students get dropped off at South Hi Mount El?
Ans. Parents must stay in their cars and use the designated car loop while staff helps students get out.
Q3. Does South Hi Mount El have a system for encouraging good behavior in all of its schools?
Ans. The school gives students "Mountaineer Bucks" as a reward for showing core values like kindness, grit, and honesty.
Q4. How can parents get to the South Hi Mount El grading portal?
Ans. Parents can log into the district's secure online portal to see grades, attendance records, and comments from teachers in real time.
Q5. Is there a program to help kids move into South Hi Mount El kindergarten?
Ans. Every spring, the campus has a "Kindergarten Roundup" to show new families what the curriculum and classroom rules are like.
