L.A. Gililland Elementary School recently won a district award for its unique way of combining mindfulness and physical education with regular schoolwork. The school's "Whole Child" program is working well right now because it helps kids stay focused and deal with their emotions while they're in class. These groups work together to make sure that all the students at Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD get a good education in a safe environment.
Q1. Does L.A. Gililland Elementary have any music classes?
Ans. Every week, students take music classes where they learn about rhythm, singing, and different instruments.
Q2. What time does L.A. Gililland start and end?
Ans. The school day starts at 8:20 AM and ends at 3:40 PM, just like the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD.
Q3. Is there a makerspace at L.A. Gililland?
Ans. Students can design, build, and explore through a variety of creative and technical projects in the library's makerspace.
Q4. How does L.A. Gililland take care of the health of its students?
Ans. Every day, a licensed school nurse is there to give out medications, give first aid, and check on students' health.
Q5. Is there shade in the play areas at L.A. Gililland?
Ans. There are covered structures on the playground to keep kids safe from the sun while they are outside playing and exercising.
