Elizabeth Lopez Hatley Elementary just opened as the 18th elementary school in EMS ISD. It will serve the Beltmill Development area. The school has a lot of extracurricular clubs, like robotics, chess, and music, to help students learn how to work together and be leaders. It is named after a long-time teacher and current member of the EMS school board who has worked in the district for 35 years.
Q1. Is there a way for kids to stay after school at Elizabeth Lopez Hatley Elementary?
Ans. After school, the district offers a supervised childcare program for registered students that includes help with homework and fun activities.
Q2. What are the rules for the library at Elizabeth Lopez Hatley Elementary?
Ans. Every week, students go to the library to check out books and learn about digital citizenship and how to do research.
Q3. Do community festivals happen every year at Elizabeth Lopez Hatley Elementary?
Ans. The school puts on seasonal events, like the Fall Festival, to get families and staff together for fun times.
Q4. What does Elizabeth Lopez Hatley Elementary do to help students with their health needs?
Ans. A full-time school nurse does health screenings every day and gives students medications that their doctors have approved when they need them.
Q5. Does Elizabeth Lopez Hatley Elementary require students to take physical education?
Ans. All students take part in structured physical activity rotations throughout the school year that are meant to encourage healthy living and teamwork.
