Being Updated
Crosby Elementary headed into 2025-26 with Principal Wendy Bailey leading a campus that parent reviews describe as a school that "continues to grow in every way." The school participates in Forney ISD's district-wide esports initiative and the Forney Education Foundation's campus support programs. Forney ISD's superintendent Dr. Justin Terry was named the Region 10 Superintendent of the Year in 2024, a recognition that flows through to the quality standards all FISD campuses including Crosby are held to.
Q1. What support does Crosby Elementary provide for high-need students?
Ans. Crosby Elementary serves a student body where 61% are classified as economically disadvantaged. The school has a full-time counselor on staff and participates in Forney ISD's support programs. Parent reviews describe a campus that is actively building stronger family engagement year over year, which is consistent with the principal's communication focus at Crosby.
Q2. Does Crosby Elementary offer a GATE program?
Ans. Crosby Elementary offers a Gifted and Talented program through Forney ISD. If you think your child might qualify, talking to the classroom teacher is the first step. The GT referral cycle opens each fall — call the school at (469) 762-4315 to find out the current timeline.
Q3. What is the esports program at Crosby Elementary?
Ans. Crosby Elementary has an esports program coordinator, Mollie Garner, as part of Forney ISD's elementary esports initiative. It's one of the newer student engagement programs the district has added across all its elementary campuses, giving students a structured activity that doesn't require athletic participation.
Q4. How does Crosby Elementary engage families?
Ans. Crosby Elementary communicates through ParentSquare for school-wide announcements and uses Skyward for attendance and grades.
Q5. What middle school do Crosby Elementary students attend?
Ans. After completing 4th grade at Crosby Elementary, students continue to one of Forney ISD's intermediate campuses, then to Jackson Middle School or Warren Middle School, and eventually to Forney High School or North Forney High School. Forney ISD's 26-campus network keeps students in a connected academic environment all the way through graduation.
