Being Updated
Rosita Valley Literacy Academy continued its early childhood literacy program through 2025-26, sharing the Rosita Valley Road corridor with Rosita Valley Elementary at the adjacent 811 address. The academy is one of a small number of dedicated early literacy campuses in any Texas border school district, reflecting EPISD's investment in front-loading language and reading development before students enter the standard 1-6 elementary program. Families in the Rosita Valley area who use both campuses benefit from a continuous early learning environment on the same road.
Q1. What is the Rosita Valley Literacy Academy, and how is it different from Rosita Valley Elementary?
Ans. Rosita Valley Literacy Academy is an early childhood literacy campus at 811 Rosita Valley Road, located directly next to Rosita Valley Elementary at 735 Rosita Valley Road. The Academy focuses specifically on pre-literacy and language development for the youngest students, while the Elementary serves grades 1-6. Many families in the Rosita Valley area use both campuses as their children grow through the system.
Q2. What age groups does Rosita Valley Literacy Academy serve?
Ans. Rosita Valley Literacy Academy serves students from early education through kindergarten, making it an entry point into Eagle Pass ISD for the Rosita Valley community. The program focuses on building literacy foundations before students transition to 1st grade at Rosita Valley Elementary or another EPISD campus.
Q3. How do families enroll at Rosita Valley Literacy Academy?
Ans. Enrollment at Rosita Valley Literacy Academy follows Eagle Pass ISD's early childhood registration process. Families can contact EPISD through eaglepassisd.net or reach the campus directly at 811 Rosita Valley Road for current registration dates and required documentation.
Q4. What is the focus of instruction at Rosita Valley Literacy Academy?
Ans. Rosita Valley Literacy Academy places an emphasis on early reading and language development aligned with Eagle Pass ISD's bilingual education framework. Given that the Rosita Valley community is predominantly Spanish-speaking, the program builds both Spanish and English literacy foundations from the earliest stages of a child's schooling.
Q5. What happens after students complete Rosita Valley Literacy Academy?
Ans. After completing the early childhood program at Rosita Valley Literacy Academy, students typically transition to Rosita Valley Elementary for 1st grade, given their proximity along the same road. EPISD's enrollment office can confirm exact placement based on home address and available spots at the time of transition.
