Being Updated
Kennedy Elementary School has once again earned an "A Excellent" local school rating for the 2025-26 academic year, a distinction it has held for several years. This is the top rating within EPISD's early childhood tier. The school caters to the Del Rio Boulevard corridor and is one of two early childhood campuses in the district. Both offer structured kindergarten readiness programs with a bilingual emphasis. EPISD's commitment to early childhood education continued in the 2024-25 school year. They maintained their investment in instructional aide staffing for all early childhood campuses, Kennedy included.
Q1. What age groups does Kennedy Elementary serve?
Ans. Kennedy Elementary caters to children from early education all the way through kindergarten. It's not your typical 1-6 elementary school; instead, it's one of EPISD's early childhood campuses. For families hoping to enroll their little ones in Eagle Pass ISD, this is often the first stop. From here, children typically move on to their local elementary school for first grade.
Q2. How do families enroll at Kennedy Elementary?
Ans. Enrollment at Kennedy Elementary is handled through Eagle Pass ISD's early childhood registration process. The school is located at 1610-B Del Rio Boulevard and can be reached by contacting the EPISD central office or visiting eaglepassisd.net for current enrollment dates and required documents.
Q3. What programs does Kennedy Elementary focus on?
Ans. Kennedy Elementary's program is built around early literacy, language development, and school readiness. HAR.com gives it an "A Excellent" rating, the top score in EPISD's early childhood program, indicating a high level of community approval regarding the program's effectiveness in readying children for elementary school.
Q4. What bilingual support is available at Kennedy Elementary?
Ans. Kennedy Elementary's early childhood program is designed with its community in mind. Eagle Pass ISD serves a population that is entirely composed of minorities, with a significant portion primarily speaking Spanish. Consequently, the program integrates bilingual instruction and English language development from the very beginning.
Language development is central to the early childhood experience at this campus.
Q5. What elementary school do Kennedy Elementary students go to after kindergarten?
Following their time at Kennedy Elementary, students move on to the Eagle Pass ISD elementary school designated for their neighborhood, determined by where they live. Parents and guardians need to verify their child's 1st grade assignment by contacting the EPISD enrollment office.
