Some recent news from the district includes the following accomplishments involving Mitchell Elementary and its commitment to academics and community involvement. The Plano ISD celebrated teachers around the district as part of its Powered by Learning program in 2026, which recognizes academic gains made by students.

Ans. Programs for gifted and talented students are offered that include enrichment activities and projects for advanced learners.

Ans. Extracurricular activities include participation in clubs, programs in music and arts, and other activities aimed at nurturing talent and building social connections among children.

Ans. Programs to assist students having trouble with some academic areas are available at the school.

Ans. There are many opportunities for parents to become more actively involved in the education of their child and collaborate with teachers and educators.
