The Lorenzo De Zavala Elementary students of the Dallas Independent School District recently got a new book vending machine located at their school campus, which was donated to them by the Dallas Education Foundation, thereby providing the students with an opportunity to interact with books in a fun way. This project is meant to help students read more often and improve their literacy skills in this school community that comprises children from pre-k to sixth grade.
Q1. Does Lorenzo De Zavala Elementary have any after-school programs?
Ans. Yes, the school offers before-and after-school care programs for the benefit of working parents and for the extended education of their children.
Q2. What kind of meals are provided to the students?
Ans. The school is enrolled in the National School Lunch Program that offers meals like breakfast and lunch, free or reduced price.
Q3. Is there any way for parents to be involved in their children’s learning process at the school?
Ans. Yes, the parents can join the PTA and become volunteers for various events and activities organized by the school.
Q4. Is there any library available on campus?
Ans. Yes, there is a library in Lorenzo De Zavala Elementary where the children can borrow books and use computers for learning.
Q5. Is field trip incorporated into the curriculum of the school?
Ans. Yes, each year the school arranges educational field trips for the students.
