In the current academic year, the elementary school named after John F. Peeler gained recognition for its cultural and community celebrations via student-led performances and activities that allowed parents and community members to unite on campus in a festive atmosphere. The cultural celebration at the institution earned attention due to its being covered by a Dallas community spotlight as an example of how the institution connects beyond the classroom to allow students to showcase their cultural identities.
Q1. What is offered in terms of extracurricular activities at John F. Peeler Elementary School?
Ans. There are many extracurricular clubs that include robotics club, chess club, Destination Imagination, cheerleading club, book club, student council, and art club.
Q2. Does the school participate in academic competitions?
Ans. The school takes part in many UIL academic competitions, which involve participation in activities like chess puzzle, number sense, dictionary skills, and storytelling contest.
Q3. How can parents become involved in the school life?
Ans. They can become members of the PTO (Parent Teacher Organization), which conducts monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of each month.
Q4. Are there any community partnerships established with the school?
Ans. Yes, the community partners are State Farm Volunteers and Oak Cliff Lion’s Club.
Q5. Do they have a uniform policy at the school?
Ans. There is a uniform policy in effect, which involves wearing tops in white or navy blue, and bottoms in khaki, navy blue, and black.
