Conroe officials say the city has been awarded $30 million in federal funding to widen Foster Road near Runyan Elementary, a change that could improve traffic flow and make the area safer for school traffic. Plans call for the road to be expanded to four lanes with updated features, and work is expected to begin in 2031.
