Eanes ISD sent out a 2026 update that talked about learning opportunities for families with kids at Valley View Elementary. One of these was the Summer 2026 Acceleration Academy program. The district also put out the approved student calendar for 2026–27 to help families plan ahead. These updates reflect the district’s continued efforts to support student learning and keep families informed for the upcoming school year.
Q1. What makes Valley View El stand out in the history of Eanes ISD?
Ans. Valley View El was one of the oldest elementary schools in Eanes ISD and had been serving the West Austin area for many years before it closed.
Q2. What happened to the students at Valley View El after the decision to close?
Ans. Eanes ISD said that Valley View El would merge with Barton Creek Elementary. Families from Valley View El would also be able to move to another campus if there was space.
Q3. Did Valley View El have any official online resources for parents or students?
Ans. Yes, Valley View El had official online access to school news, calendars, staff information, cafeteria details, and other resources for parents through the Eanes ISD website.
Q4. When did Valley View El first open?
Ans. According to the official Eanes ISD district history page, Valley View El was built in 1982.
Q5. Did Valley View El serve any district programs other than its role as an elementary school?
Ans. Yes, Eanes ISD says that the Central Campus of its Early Education Program was split between Valley View El and Forest Trail Elementary.
