Lee Lewis Campbell Elementary School in Austin has gained some recent attention because of its success in the Martin Luther King Jr Oratory Competition. A fourth-grade student from Lee Lewis Campbell won first place at the Citywide level for their speech, which was also recognized at Austin’s City Hall and the Texas Capitol. This achievement highlights the emphasis that the school places on student expression and confidence building as well as providing opportunities for students to be involved in community driven programs that extend learning beyond the classroom.
Q1. Are there any special academic programs at Campbell Elementary?
Ans. Yes, the school offers enrichment through programs for gifted and talented students, as well as support programs that are made to meet different learning needs.
Q2. What kinds of transport do students have?
Ans. Depending on how far away they live and what attendance zone they are in, eligible students can use the buses that the district provides.
Q3. Does the school have any activities outside of class?
Ans. Students can do things like music, art, physical education, and sometimes join clubs or events led by the campus throughout the year.
Q4. How can parents help out at Campbell Elementary?
Ans. Parents can get involved by joining the PTA, volunteering, and going to school events that get people in the community involved.
Q5. What kinds of help are there for students' health and well-being?
Ans. The campus has a school nurse, counselling services, and academic support resources to help students stay healthy and keep up with their studies.
