Being Updated
Austin ISD has been in the news for its long-term plan to improve learning environments for students by combining campuses. Blackshear Elementary is one of the schools that has been in the news for this reason. The district has said that by 2028, students will move into a modernized building at Oak Springs Elementary. The new building will have better fine arts spaces and areas for collaborative learning. This move is meant to keep Blackshear's strong arts-focused identity while giving students better infrastructure and more educational resources.
