Chase Stem Academy

Chase STEM Academy is a highly acclaimed public elementary school in Ohio, providing quality education to 271 students, located in a vast area. This K–8 academy focuses on and emphasizes STEM learning for students. This prepares them to become successful individuals through educational experiences. The school has an average 16:1 student-teacher ratio, allowing students to receive attention and personalized direction while increasing ownership of their schooling. In addition to the teacher-staff, which consists of 17 full-time certified teachers, there is also one school counselor, providing students with valuable support while attending Chase STEM Academy. This school serves a diverse student population, comprising 85% minority students, and represents a rich community where students can feel a sense of belonging. The composition of male and female students is well balanced at 48% and 52%, respectively. Academically, 27% of students met and exceeded proficiency levels in both math and reading, with continuing growth and achievement. This public school is ranked #14 out of Toledo Public Schools’ elementary schools and looks to continue its effective practice of an enriching and valuable learning environment.

Chase STEM Academy was able to expand facilities in 2025, where we collaborated with Mercy College to offer more classrooms and science laboratories. Students did water quality testing at Manhattan Marsh and received accolades for their presentation work. Under the leadership of Principal Jack Hunter, Chase STEM Academy has continued to improve the quality of learnings and relationships with students and families using a research-informed approach to the practice of teaching and looping. In fact, the school improved its Ohio School Report Card mark from an “F” to a “B.”
