Elyria, Ohio - a quaint city just west of Cleveland - combines small-town comfort with big-city opportunities. Elyria has a population of nearly 52,600 residents and has many beautiful parks, an energetic downtown, and is a place known for its great community values. Elyria encompasses the Elyria City Schools, which educates thousands of students through the multitude of elementary schools in Ohio. Using a baseline of 39% and 33% for average proficiency in reading and math, respectively, you can see that many of the schools are improving their scores through literacy programming and STEM-based learning. Families are attracted to Elyria because of the affordable housing and safe neighborhoods or proximity to Lake Erie.
