Hammond, Indiana, located in Lake County near the Illinois border, is part of the greater Chicago metropolitan area and known for its industrial roots and proximity to Lake Michigan. Once a hub for steel and manufacturing, Hammond is now undergoing efforts in redevelopment and education reform. It’s served by the School City of Hammond, educating around 12,000 students.
