A record of 91% of high school graduates were reported to have graduated in 2025 from Indiana public school systems, and over 90% of them also received diplomas without using waivers. With nearly 437 public high schools and 190 private high schools throughout the state, there are many opportunities for students to pursue excellent educational programs and develop skills through rigorous academic requirements, improved literacy rates over time, and new work-based learning experiences. On a national scale, Indiana ranks 6th in reading proficiency for both 4th and 8th Graders. In addition to these outstanding accomplishments, the top-performing high schools in Indiana demonstrate continuous improvement through consistent achievement, providing measurable academic success for students preparing for college and careers.
