Wilson Middle School is in the Southwest part of Cedar Rapids at 2301 J Street SW. It serves grades 6 through 8. The school has a smaller enrollment of 397 students and a student-teacher ratio of 14:1, which makes it a friendly place that puts the needs of each student first. There are 48% female and 52% male in the student body. In math, 51% of students are proficient, and in reading, 55% are proficient. The smaller size of the school makes it easier for students and staff to get to know each other better. The school has a lot of different co-curricular activities to get students more involved. These include the Regeneration show choir, the drama club, and a number of sports like soccer and basketball. Students also benefit from programs like Project Lead The Way (PLTW) and Gifted & Talented (PACT) education, which are meant to challenge students of all skill levels. Prices for homes in the area usually range from $160,000 to $275,000. Parents are very sure that the school can get students ready for school. Wilson Middle School is working hard to be known as one ofthe best middle schools in Iowa.
