Panama City Beach is the home of a vibrant coastal community of around 20,000 residents in Bay County, a county where the economy is based on tourism. Most students attend public schools in the Bay District Schools, which includes a handful of charter and private school options and several elementary campuses in the city and surrounding areas.
Schools emphasize core academics, early literacy and math development, STEM initiatives, and arts programs. Also, they offer enrichment and intervention services to a diverse student body. Several newly identified campuses have received Florida Department of Education recognitions and improved accountability ratings.
