DeLand’s elementary school system serves a Volusia County community of approximately 37,000. It is a historic downtown area with tree-lined streets and a college-town feel centered around Stetson University. Most students go to public schools run by Volusia County Schools, which runs many elementary campuses in the area, as well as various charter and private school options.
Schools support core academics, early literacy and math development, STEM programs and arts education, and a diverse student population with enrichment and support services. Several campuses have received recognitions from the Florida Department of Education, including “A” school grades. DeLand is a perfect setting for elementary education with its strong community involvement, cultural resources, and slower pace of life.
