Aurora, Colorado, serves a vibrant and diverse young population through a dual-district elementary education system primarily managed by Aurora Public Schools (APS) and the Cherry Creek School District (CCSD). For the 2025-2026 school year, Aurora Public Schools serves approximately 38,197 students across a variety of settings, including 20 elementary schools and 9 P-8/K-8 schools. The district is characterized by its remarkable diversity, with students coming from over 130 countries and speaking more than 160 languages.
To ensure individualized attention for this multicultural cohort, APS maintains a student-teacher ratio of roughly 16:1.
