After four years of planning, Sussman (Edward A.) Middle was given the go-ahead in early 2026 to offer the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program. The authorization came after a multi-year candidacy process that followed IB rules for curriculum, assessment, and teaching methods. The designation makes the campus an IB World School that offers the Middle Years Programme framework.
