Indian River High School is a public high school in Chesapeake, Virginia. It is part of the Chesapeake City Public Schools division and serves students in grades 9–12. The school has about 1,400 to 1,500 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 17:1, which helps create a structured and interesting place to learn. Indian River High School is one of seven high schools in the district and it is among the best high school in Virginia. The school has a lot of different academic options, such as Advanced Placement (AP) classes and tests. 16% of students take AP classes. There are also honors classes, career and technical education pathways, and extracurricular activities that help students get ready for college and work.
